She Objects!: Women Who Make Music

Saturday, July 21st - 6:30 pm

Featuring Namoli Brennet, Leila Lopez, Amber Norgaard, Kaia Chesney and more TBA.

$10 Admission; $7 with donation of art supplies. All costs are tax-deductible.

Conrad Wilde Gallery announces a benefit concert for The Haven, a Tucson organization that supports women recovering from substance abuse. This concert honors area women who make music, art—-and, most importantly—-a difference. The concert will take place July 21, at 6:30 p.m.

Founded in 1970, The Haven provides housing, support groups and therapy to area women. By including children in the recovery process, this unique program strives to address women’s needs. In the past 15 years, The Haven has helped more than 1,000 women achieve and maintain sobriety. For more information about The Haven, please visit http://www.thehaventucson.org.

This concert coincides with our exhibition She Objects! II: Women Who Make Objects, which runs through Aug. 11th at the Gallery, located 210 N. Fourth Ave. The show features eight local female artists with a range of experience and methods.

To mirror the exhibition’s focus on female artists, several woman musicians will participate in the concert, including local folky favorites Namoli Brennet, Leila Lopez and Amber Norgaard. Up-and-coming songwriter Kaia Chesney will also perform, as well as others to be announced. Admission to the concert is $10, or $7 with a donation of art supplies. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Haven and its arts programs for clients and their children.
