Balance and Rhythms

Abstract is my first love: when I deviate my work becomes otherworldly as if I am venturing to the edge of great body of water. Blue Day has us peering into a murky, cloudy shoreline that is filled with foreboding and delight—remember that hot summer day where you kicked off your shoes and felt that squish of mud and cool water between your toes?

To resemble and attain order I begin by repeating vertical layers as in Ribbon Candy, Orangerie, and Water Line. These abstracted forests are caught in the ebb and flow of the wind; before your eyes leaves change color. The movement of stems, stalks, and tree trunks multiply into an essential arrangement of life – a sustaining construct.
